Title: Morality Play

Year: 1996

Medium: Mirrored plexiglas, vinyl stickers of welfare cheques, steel, MDF (3 parts)

Description: These large convex mirrors resemble minimalist sculpture and with their scale and placement they might easily serve as windows or passageways. The industrial sheen of their surfaces reflects and distorts the exhibition space and viewers within it. Those reflections however are interrupted by a horizontal row of stickers – depictions of welfare cheques – adhered across the middle of each mirrored panel. These stickers echo the safety stickers that are placed on clear plate glass windows to prevent people from colliding into their unseen surfaces.
